How the pool works

1. The pick

Every tournament week you pick one golfer from that week's field. The deck shows each player with the model's win chance, the betting line, course history and strokes-gained form. Swipe past the ones you don't want, tap the flag on the one you do.

You can change your pick as many times as you like before it locks. Only the golfer on your card when the first group tees off counts.

2. Scoring

Your golfer's official prize money for the week is your score. Nothing else: no points, no multipliers, no bonuses. Season totals are the sum of every week.

3. Deadlines and locks

• Picks lock at the first tee time, usually Thursday morning.
• Change your pick any time before that. The last one you lock is the one that counts.
• No pick means $0 for the week. There are no makeup picks and no automatic selections unless you turn auto-pick on.
• Picks are private until they lock. After that, everyone can see everyone's.

4. One-and-done

Once a tournament starts with a golfer on your card, he is used for the season. You cannot pick him again, even if he withdraws or misses the cut.

That is the game. Do you spend Scheffler at a regular event where he is the favorite, or hold him for the Masters where the purse is bigger? Thirty-odd weeks, thirty-odd names, and everyone in the pool is working the same card.

5. Edge cases

• Withdrawals and disqualifications. You get whatever money the golfer had earned when he left. Usually nothing. He still counts as used.
• Missed cut. $0. He still counts as used.
• Team events. Your golfer's share of the team payout is your score.
• Opposite-field events. Weeks that run alongside a bigger event don't count toward the season and don't appear on the schedule.
• TOUR Championship. The FedExCup bonus pool is capped at a $20M purse for pool scoring so one week can't swamp the season.
